Oscibox: Privacy Policy
Effective 24 October 2026. Applies to the Oscibox app for Android (pl.avroit.oscibox), version 1.0 and later.
Summary
- Oscibox analyses sound from the microphone on your phone only. Audio is never sent anywhere: the last seconds of history are kept in memory and disappear when you close the app.
- Files (image, WAV, CSV) are created only when you tap Export, and leave the app only when you share or save them yourself.
- Oscibox has no account, no ads, no analytics and no tracking, and it never sends data to AVRO IT.
- The one exception is the Google Play Billing library built into the app for the optional Pro purchase: it sends technical diagnostic data about its own operation to Google (see Purchases).
Who is responsible
Oscibox is published by AVRO IT, ul. Przelotowa 188A, 42-523 Dąbrowa Górnicza, Poland, tax ID (NIP) 6292383961, REGON 363379805 ("AVRO IT"). Contact: avroitmm@gmail.com. AVRO IT does not receive any data from the app; it only processes the e-mails you send it.
Permissions and why they are needed
| Permission | What it is used for |
|---|---|
| Microphone (record audio) | The measurement itself: the oscilloscope, spectrum and spectrogram show the sound from the microphone or from a wired or USB input. Without it the app cannot measure. Audio is processed only while the app is open and is not stored outside memory unless you export it. |
| Nearby devices (Android 12+), optional | Asked only when you choose a Bluetooth headset microphone as the input, to show the headset's name. Oscibox does not scan for devices and does not determine your location. If you refuse, the input is shown as "Bluetooth headset". |
| Change audio settings | Turning on the voice link to a Bluetooth headset when you choose its microphone, and turning it off when you switch back. |
| Internet, network state, Google Play billing | Added by the Google Play Billing library for the Pro purchase. Oscibox itself makes no network connections. |
Data kept on your phone
- Settings (view, trigger, theme), whether the Pro purchase is active, and microphone correction files you import. They stay in the app's private storage and are removed when you uninstall the app. They are not included in Android backups.
- Exported files are prepared in the app's cache and deleted after 24 hours unless you saved or shared them.
Purchases
Oscibox Pro is a one-time purchase handled by Google Play. Google processes your payment details under its own privacy policy; AVRO IT receives no payment or personal data, only Google's confirmation that the purchase is valid, which the app checks on your phone. The Google Play Billing library included in the app sends technical diagnostic data about its own operation (for example, whether the connection to the Play Store worked) to Google. This data is not linked to your identity, is not shared with third parties by AVRO IT, and is used for diagnostics.
Children
Oscibox is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect any data from anyone.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be published at this address with a new effective date.
